Honoring the Life and Legacy of Yamaha Artist Chick Corea

Words cannot adequately express the tremendous loss the music community, indeed the entire world, has suffered this week. Chick Corea, keyboardist, composer, bandleader and musical pioneer, who spent more than half a century innovating and influencing the most important figures in jazz history, died on February 9th from a rare form of cancer. Revered across genres, Corea collected 23 Grammy Awards and 67 nominations over his 60+ year career. A role model for musicians young and old, Corea played Miles and Mozart and everything in between, opening our ears to new ways of hearing, and our hearts to new ways of experiencing and sharing music. Yamaha is honored to have shared the stage with him for over two decades, and we will be forever grateful for the gift of his music.
