Get to know Yamaha Artist and Saxophone Player Marko Dzomba

Statement about your relation with Yamaha or your instrument:

Ever since I produced my first tone, Yamaha was a great part of my musical journey. Since then, my Yamaha saxophones have become a standard part of my daily life. As close as an object can come to being a friend.

How does your instrument help you in your daily life as an artist?

They are very flexible. I have the feeling that, with them, I can achieve everything I set my mind to, musicaly and technicaly. Meanwhile it’s hard to imagine a single day without them.

How would you characteriseyour instrument?

Beautiful, handmade piece of art. As close as an object can come to being a friend.

Who was your most influential teacher and is there any advice which you still follow?

It’s hard to choose just one. If it’s saxophone teachers, then Bojan Vukelic and Oto Vrhovnik. If it’s about other aspects of music and musicianship then it is very hard not to mention music manager Eleanor Hope and Coretta Kurth, a teacher at the Vienna Music University.

Advice for a young musician
